Membership in The Rochester
Area Vegetarian Society
is open to all vegetarians, as well as to those who, while not yet vegetarian,
are working towards a vegetarian life-style, and wish to support the group.
RAVS Constitution defines Vegetarianism as the practice of
living without the use of flesh, fish or fowl, and the ideal of complete
independence from all animal products.
Members are entitled to: half-price membership in the
North American Vegetarian Society, half-price subscriptions to
the Vegetarian Journal,
discounts on the purchase of books and other material available from
RAVS, and are eligable to be listed in the
Greenpeople guide to ethically owned businesses. Members also
receive the Vegetarian Advocate, published
four times a year.
