Heat oil in saucepan and add onion. Sprinkle salt over the onion, cover, and cook over med. heat until onion is golden. Add garlic and mushrooms and cook, covered, 3 min. Add remaining ingredients and cook, covered, 20 min. more. [For a thicker sauce, blend 1 T cornstarch with 2 T water. Add to sauce and simmer until thickened.] Makes 1-1/2 C. |
